Welcome to Interlude, the annual Secret Santa Project for the 838 / Cho Hakkai/Genjo Sanzo fandom.

Now on its third year, this project is open once again to provide our fellow fans another round of fun and gifts for Christmas 2006.

What is a Secret Santa Project?

It is an exchange gift project. You offer to grant someone's request, and in exchange, someone else grants your own request as well. Everything is done anonymously until it is revealed who asked for what, and who gave you what.

Credit for the original idea is not mine. I was only influenced by the brilliant obscure fandom secret santa project, Yuletide Treasure. I thought it would be fun to adopt a secret santa project to the 838 fandom.

For your information, there are other forms of fandom secret santa projects. If you are feeling generous this holiday season (with a lot of free time on hand), you might want to check them out and join more than one of them.

What is the purpose of this site? And why name it as "Interlude"

The purpose of this site is to have an exchange of fan gifts between fans of the Hakkai/Sanzo pairing. I thought that since a lot of people have fun in the other secret santa projects, perhaps my fellow 838 fans will have fun too. Besides, Christmas is the season of giving, so what better way to celebrate it in your fandom than to give out (and receive!) Hakkai/Sanzo fanworks?

Since the main idea associated with the Sanzo-ikkou is their "journey to the west", I chose to name this project as "Interlude". The word itself means "an intervening period/event". We shall pretend that Christmas is one of those days wherein the Sanzo-ikkou could have a quiet and uneventful day. Just one, quiet day, that they could spend in whatever way they want to, before going back to their usual (should I say normal?) active lives.

Who can join this? Do we have to be a member of any group?

All fans of the relationship between Cho Hakkai and Genjo Sanzo / Tenpou Gensui and Konzen Douji are welcome to join. You do not need to be a member of any mailing list, discussion board, or LiveJournal community to join. You do not need a website either. All you need is to read and follow the mechanics, keep your recipient's name a secret, and finish the assignment(s) on time.

If you have any questions, comments, or have anything you would like to say that is related to this project, please do not hesitate to contact me. For the duration of the whole project, I have made sure that I can check my email on a frequent basis, so I shall be sure to get back to you as soon as possible. If you can advertise this project in any place where there are 838 fans, you are welcome to do so.
